The in-depth news model is under siege.
The lethargy and complacency that can affect newsroom culture can lead to news that is predictable and boring.
We know less than our parents did.
It’s time for a news makeover. The prospect of news, knowledge, community-building services is being created right now. Some of the solutions will be driven by news-gathering institutions, technology leaders and entrepreneurs; the opportunity is there for the taking.
But the biggest game changer is us – the public and individual consumers. The change we seek is within reach. It’s up to us to get aware, get active, and take control.
